As I'm sure you all know by now, the wacky, yet loveable Devendra Banhart is playing Lawrence on September 13th. However, the show has been moved from Liberty Hall to the Granada, which may piss off the fans who hoped to chill out in the balcony while swigging some delicious Free State beer, but is otherwise good news for those who don't mind the even more intimate setting the Granada can provide. But that's not all. If you buy your tickets at the Granada box office between now and Friday, they're two for the price of one! No joke.
So what's the bad news, you ask. Most concerts don't get moved to smaller venues and sell discounted tickets the week before very often, and when they do its usually because the concert in question is suffering from poor ticket sales. Of course, I cannot confirm whether this is indeed the reason for the move and the special ticket offer, but considering this has happened before (a 2005 Franz Ferdinand show also changed venues and cut ticket prices) I see no other reason. Hopefully the 2 for 1 deal will inspire people to go out and catch Devendra in person, and if not I hope the people that do go enjoy themselves, as it may be a while before he comes back.

Damn! So now I could go to Devendra two for the price of one if I wasn't going to be in OKC? Dammit.
