If you're curious to see more, Largehearted Boy has compiled a list of all Best of 2007 lists thus far. OK Harp, I'm going to give that Okkervil River album another go. I will give you that "Girl in Port" is a pretty fab song.
I can understand to some degree all of these choses except Dirty Projects (While I don't dislike their album it just isn't interesting enough to be on even the top 50 list) and Okkervil River (whom I just out right dislike)?
ReplyDeleteI think Okkervil River has a much stronger presence than I've seen from them in the past... and it was offputting at first. I still don't know what to think.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, that Black Sheep Boy album pretty much put them on the map.
ReplyDeleteI dare say that the reason Stage Names is getting such great reviews is because different publications are overcompensating for sleeping on this band for so long. But maybe that's just me being cynical because I'm partial to Down the River of Golden Dreams.
I guess I mean "presence" as in the music/vocals... but then again, I haven't heard much of Black Sheep Boy.
ReplyDeleteAh, I see. In that case, you're probably right, but then again I haven't listened to Black Sheep Boy in quite some time.
